Harvey: a free AI sales agent

An open-source agent that finds businesses, researches each one, writes cold emails that mention what it found, and handles the replies. It runs on your Claude or ChatGPT subscription instead of an API bill. Here's how to set it up and what to check before it sends anything.

Harvey is a free, open-source sales agent (MIT licence, about 1,900 GitHub stars when I checked on 21 October 2026). You tell it what you sell and who you sell to. It finds businesses that fit, reads their websites, works out who decides, writes a short cold email that mentions something specific it found, and then reads the replies and keeps the conversation going toward a meeting.

The part that got my attention: there's no per-token API bill. It runs its model calls through the Claude Code CLI on your Claude Pro or Max plan, or through Codex on a ChatGPT plan. Finding businesses is free on its default source (OpenStreetMap), reading their sites costs nothing, and every email waits for your approval until you decide otherwise. Below is the setup, the one step that decides whether it's any good, and the deliverability rules you shouldn't skip.
