OpenReply: free comment-to-DM

Someone comments a keyword, they get a DM with your link. OpenReply does that one job for free, on your own hosting, through Meta's official API. Here's how I set mine up.

Most people pay for ManyChat to do one thing: someone comments a keyword under a reel, and they get a DM with a link. OpenReply does exactly that, and it's free. It's open source (MIT licence), you host it yourself, and it talks to Instagram through Meta's official API. No scraping, no browser bots, and it never asks for your Instagram password.

I run it on my own account. When you commented REPLY, OpenReply is what sent you that DM: the follow check, the button, the link to this page. Below is the setup I use, what it costs, and the traps that cost me time.

The rest is one email away. Then every guide is open.

Put your email in once and you can read this guide and every other one on the shelf, including the ones from reels I haven't posted yet. I'll send you the link too, so you can find it again.
